Now my dog and I can watch the game and have a few brews together. :D I didn't think this was serious, but it is. This is a non-alcoholic beer for dogs. Check it out.

I have seen this a few times and it kind of makes me roll my eyes.

I know people who do give their dogs real beer with alcohol and that's obviously not good for them. Taking out the alcohol doesn't make it that much better for them considering it's still going to be sweet and whatnot, though.

I find it funny - for sure it's better than giving them a real alcohol:eek: . My Homer hates alcohol. He always makes this funny face when he smells it:p

Okay, I just went back to explore the site a bit more and I love some of the label options. I didn't know they could be customized! One says "I don't give a shitzu brew." Too funny. I might be willing to pay a bit more for something like that as a gift to a dog lover friend, I think.

Yeah I've heard of people giving their dogs alcoholic drinks. That's not very smart in my opinion. It can make a dog very ill for sure.

A couple of years ago, my best friend decided to give their dog beer to drink. They even laughed at how the dog was walking in a criss-cross way because it got drunk. The poor pup was disoriented and it snored while it slept. I wasn't there so I couldn't stop it from happening.

I still dislike what they did to that dog and I would have told him how annoyed I was about it had it not been for the depressing problems he's still having.

Wow that's messed up. The thing is that the dog has no idea that it's drunk. He will think he is sick and get real scared.

Dogs and cats react to alcohol different than humans do, too, so it can be fatal much faster. For starters, they tend to be smaller....even large dogs don't tend to often weigh as much as an adult male does. What seems like a small amount could be deadly to a smaller dog. It also doesn't just make them drowsy, etc....it affects their nervous system entirely different. :(

Funny that because this came through on my Facebook feed from Tasmanian Animal Hospital. "Now you and your four legged freind can have a drink together :)" I would have thought they would know better. :(
Beer is generally made from malt which has a high carb rating. Regardless whether it's alcohol free it will still cause a dog to put on weight causing other problems.
