Thank you both for sharing these lovely recipes!!:D I'll try them out as soon as I have some free time. I can't wait to see Homer's reaction. I'm sure he will be super happy! Carrots, baked goods and other delicious treats always make him jump from happiness:D

Trellum - are mascabado sugar and muscovado sugar the same thing?

Yes, they're the same thing. Sorry, I wrote it very wrong!! But yes, they are the same and is the sugar that is always used to make carrot cakes and muffins. Because that is what gives the cake that brown color.

I understand:) Mascabado sugar is something I've never heard of and I was worried I won't be able to buy it here. Fortunately, I have a lot of brow sugar at home and I can use it whenever I want to:) I'm not sure if it's true, but I was told that it's healthier than regular, white sugar.

I don't think Capone knows if it is his birthday or not! We just gave him a special treat said Happy Birthday to him. He is happy enough taking the treat and has a great time with it.

I have heard the same thing, because the white fine sugar is supposedly super processed, and the brown one not so much. I always use the brown one for carrot cakes ;) I use the super fine powdery one for cake icing ;) I also use it for some desserts :)

We celebrate our dogs birthday. I wish she understood what it was. They make this little cups of ice cream for dogs at walmart. We normally buy her some of those siing her happy birthday then let her run around outside.

No, not me. My sister does. She will make a cake and buy candles and firework. Whole nine yards. When it is my birthday she is like , 'Really? Today?'. So anyway, i do not like that personification and i believe it is confusing to a dog but tell that to my sister. I have a photo somewhere. He is 6 now.

    Hello, Djordje87!:)
Isn't your dog scared of fireworks? Most dogs hate the noise. Mine definitely does. I always make sure his birthday is a very happy day for him, so I buy him his favorite treats:)

Yes, my family does! We often buy dog-friendly cakes from pet bakeries. No chocolate, or any other of the stuff that are dangerous to dogs. We put party hats on them as well, they're really cute. :)

You asked a good question because most dogs are. My Remy used to be terribly afraid of almost every noise. I know she'd 'pee in her pants' if she heard any although she has come a very long way out of her shell.

Tisoy celebrated his 9th birthday last July 16. As per our tradition, we have a little celebration and the usual cake with candle with matching pictorial and singing of the birthday song. In photo is Tisoy on the table with Barbie in the middle and Pipoy is the brown pug. You will notice the lighted candle in the small cake. For the food, our dogs enjoyed the fried chicken only. We do not give them pasta and no cake either. IMG_2863 tisoy bday all.jpg

My Homer wasn't scared of fireworks when he was younger. He ignored the noise.
Now, he is absolutely terrified of them. I don't know what changed:(

Corzhens - it must have been a great party!:) The food looks delicious.

We don't know the exact day, but she was 6 weeks at Valentine's day. So that makes her a Christmas puppy!! We don't really celebrate her birthday but she has an exceptionally good life every single day!

Banjo's birthday is on Christmas Day! So we never forget it. There's actually a pet store at our local mall here that sells doggy cakes - they're super cute and really nicely decorated. So we usually get him one of those on Christmas Eve and he gets to eat it on his birthday!

I have never done this, but I think I will start because I can imagine a lot of fun things happening on this day. They would be so confused I think because they won't know what's going on. It would be nice to create those memories though.

It can't hurt to celebrate a dogs birthday.
