I've always had dogs that like to sleep on top of their beds. If you covered them with a blanket, they immediately walked away.

Misha loves to sleep under her blanket. The more blankets the better! She's under her blankets even on hot days. I think this behavior is common in small dogs.

Does your dog like to climb under the blankets, too?

This was her the other morning. She wasn't quite ready to get up for breakfast.

Yes! He doesn't always do it, but if there's extra blanket or bed to spare, he'll pull it up on top of himself. It's only so long as he has a bed under him of some sort, though. He can't stand to sleep on a bare floor.

I have not have a dog that loves to be covered with a blanket.
Maybe because they can still manage the cold when it was rainy season here. We do not have winter being a tropical country. ;)

Does Misha have terrier blood in her? I'm pretty sure it's in her genes.

My dog Peanuts loves to burrow so much but since she only has two pillows and I had not crate trained her, she usually burrows under tables with very small openings. And she's actually made a hole in her couch.

Zara, I think the reason why dogs can withstand the weather here is because we only have two seasons and the cold is always a welcome since the temperature nowadays can reach up to 37 degrees Celsius.

My Lab/Rott loves to burrow - he feels most comfortable when completely covered by a blanket. He's the type of dog you can't disturb while asleep, or he'll try to take your arm off, LOL. But I've noticed he is much less jumpy/anxious when he feels protected by a blanket or comforter. You can actually touch him if he's sleeping under a blanket without him reacting crazily.

Haopee, yes, Misha is a terrier. She's a Jack Russell.

I have a tent bed for her with old blankets inside. She goes in there and covers herself with all the blankets even on hot days. I think sometimes she is trying to get away from us.

Kinser, I wonder if that is part of it. The blankets become a safe place.

I have seen Benjamas, my Poodle, doing this. Well, she doesn't actually burrow. What she does is burrow into the blanket and keeps all kinds of thing in there. Sort of like another version of burying the bone.

 I almost mistaken Misha to argon’s Mishka.

    @ Topic:
I don’t remember my dogs looking for a blanket unless it’s cold or New Year or they had a bath. On usual days they would lay bare on the ground taking a nap. :p

This thread reminded me of this, too:

Who needs to burrow when you can simply pull it in on top of you from the start, right?

That's a neat trick. Now the next thing to do is teach the dog to dry itself with a towel after a bath.

Ha, well this one probably would! Although I still think most dogs would prefer to stand up and shake for a while than to be scruffed up with a towel.

Well, Candy prefers to rub herself on the floor. So I put a few towels on the floor to help her get dry after a bath.
