31k?! Well, that's a whole lot of money that could have bought food for poor African children....

....that said, I might actually do something like this, but obviously in a more reserved and playful way. Grandma's backyard, I'm the minister, no fancy decoration outside maybe some balloons, and there'd probably be nachos for the human guests. Yeah, it'd be fun. But in no way I would spend that much money in something like that.

For sure they have lots of money to spare. :p
I do not think it was worth it although it looks cute and could be a fun event. It will be fun to be a guest there but I do not think I would spend for such fake wedding.

31K is too much for a dog wedding for me and of course, the dogs won’t even appreciate it except when they are given the best food. I think the dog wedding is actually for the owner’s sake because she would simply feel happy seeing her dog (which she may have considered as her real child) as the one being involved in a human affair.

That is too much money spent on an animal wedding (really... what's next?!). A friend of mine told me recently that the new craze in our country is to throw birthday parties for their dogs. They would book restaurants (that allow pets) and invite other dog owners and of course, their dogs. I've only seen this sort of thing on TV and I didn't think it would become huge in my country!

Where I live now, I see a lot of dog owners carrying cushions around, so that if their dogs are tired, they would carry the cushion with the dog sleeping on it  I wonder how that would work if it were a Great Dane. I love animals - cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, etc but I wouldn't spend that kind of money on them, even if I had that kind of money.

I can at least understand that a little bit better. People see their dogs as children often times, so it -kinda- makes sense to want to celebrate birthdays maybe and it's a great excuse to throw a party, I guess. To spend $31k on some fake wedding....I don't know...it just seems over and above. :S

I don't even have $31K to spend on a wedding for myself. I think you would get just as much fun out of buying a couple of costumes for your dogs, then taking photos of it. You could pretend it was a wedding.

I know people who have thrown dog birthday parties, though they have not rented a hall or gone to a restaurant. Usually, it's a family affair at home where family brings their dogs to celebrate. This is actually like most of our family birthday parties, though we're celebrating the humans. Everyone in the family brings their dogs.

31K is a lot of money for me. Maybe to some people it's just loose change. If I had that amount of money, I can think of many more useful things to do. Like set up a home for homeless dogs. I believe my dogs would appreciate that more than a wedding.

"You may lick the bride". That's a good line. Maybe someone should try that sometime at a human wedding.

"Eww! Honey...you got slobber all over my veil."

I can see this backfiring, fast XD

The natural rejoinder to that would be "Don't worry, honey, I will lick off all that slobber for you."

There is no way I'd ever pay 31k for a dog wedding even if I had unlimited resources. However I don't hold anything against people do. If they have that amount of disposable income they should do what makes them happy, as obviously the wedding is to please them and not the dogs. To be honest I'd be far too protective over any dog that's under my care to let them get married ha ha. ;):p I have to admit casual dog parties seem like a cute novel idea.

This is silly in my opinion and a waste of money. I don't think that my Homer would ever want to get married:p . He probably prefers to be single, because he falls in love with a different dog every time we are walking in the park. He is not very picky and definitely not steady when it comes to feelings:p

Wow, what a bargain! Only $31k!! I will be signing up for this as soon as I find the right husband for my girl and saved up some money. Why pay rent or food when you can marry your pet dogs?! Excellent.

That's ridiculous and insane both. My wedding didn't even cost that much! Some people have more money than they know what to do with. I love my dogs, but a wedding at any cost, really? That's just to weird for me. What happens when the happy couple have irreconcilable differences. You know one is staying out late sniffing some other pooch, one taking up too much of the cootie bed or one feels like that don't get enough of the chew toys? Do we seek a divorce lawyer and file for a doggie divorce decree? Insanity!

It's their own money and I really don't have the right to judge, but....

I really wish they would put that sort of money to a good cause then. Donate some of it to an animal shelter or reserve, for example.
