Dogs brains have changed in size since we domesticated them from wolves. They have lost some of their cognitive intelligence but have gained social intelligence from their interaction with humans. Their brains have been moulded by the use we have put them to. Here's an interesting video of 9 minutes you may wish to view.

This is a very interesting video, I haven't seen this before, so thank you for posting. I love how these dogs play dead at the beginning, it's so funny:D . My Homer doesn't want to learn any tricks:rolleyes: . Also, I'm pretty sure his social intelligence isn't very impressive since he bites everyone every time he is angry. But he is still adorable:D .

There was an article I read from a few years ago where they basically said that people don't adopt dogs, dogs have been adopting people for years. It kind of flipped the script on everything, and made the argument that it was dogs who have adapted to get along with us for their own benefit. It was kind of humbling to think about.

You know I have to agree with this. I know that the original Buddy adopted my family, he knew he belonged with us. I also remember one of the few female dogs we had over the years, my parents said that when they went to the pound she kept looking at them as if to say you know you want me. So they had to bring her home. Rocky was the same way, my parents weren't sure they wanted another dog at that point, my brother brought him in he looked at them with his said eyes, and they just had to have him. Dogs seem to know exactly whom they belong with.
