Do you like dressing your dogs? What about making them wear shoes?

Does your dog act the way Tuna does while wearing a pair of boots?

I personally won't want to make my dogs wear shoes but I'd understand why others do so... especially in extreme cold or heat.

Have you ever had your dog wear shoes?

We used to put a cape and a shade on our dog cause it looks good but he was not comfortable with it so we does not force that. And I do not think that he will be comfortable wearing those shoes and we never tried that.

I've put special dog clothes on my dogs on occasion. Just little items though and nothing uncomfortable and if my dogs weren't keen on something I'd take it off straight away. I think dog jumpers are cute in the winter as well as dog coats but I'd never put shoes on a dog as I've seen some dogs wearing them in public and they look like they are struggling to walk.

When Roman was younger, we did a lot of funny things to him with clothing. He would use a cape, make him wear socks, and even put on hats. He never liked them at all. Not until he was around 10. His old age made him not care about what was happening to him. He trusted us enough that we could put on anything. Haha! We haven't done the boots, but for fun we've made him paper towel shoes before. Granted, we figured out this amazing concept when my dad tried cutting his nails for the first time.

My Homer doesn't want to wear shoes...which isn't surprising at all since he doesn't like clothes either. I'd want him to wear shoes during winter because people here put salt on sidewalks and I'm pretty sure it can hurt his paws. Also, sometimes it's really cold here.

Really, the only clothing we've ever put on any of our dogs was for warmth. Bandit just recently came back to Missouri, with my girlfriend and I, and we bought him a small doggy windcoat/sweater. This is mainly because it's gotten quite chilly (below freezing, most days!), here, and he still wants to go for his daily walks. Now, shoes? I'm not so sure about!

I sometimes put a shirt on my dog when it's chilly outside. I think shoes might actually be uncomfortable for the dog. I'll stick to shirts and sweaters.
