Ugh, this is horrible. I'm glad it has a happy ending.

His owner saw him humping another male and "refused to have a 'gay' dog," so he dumped him at a shelter. It was a kill-shelter, too, so he's lucky a special group stepped up to try to find him a home. Otherwise, he'd be dead right now because he decided to hump something that wasn't female.

The next thing you know, he'd be wanting to marry a chair, too.... ;)

Wow that's terrible and embarrassing. What moron would kill a dog just because of that? I mean a dog will hump just about anything. Also I thought I'd hear the term "kill-shelter" in my life. I guess it's called that because eventually they have to exterminate enough animals in order to make room for more. I bet the person who got rid of him feels really stupid right now.

As I said in another post, a male dog humping another male dog is usually a sign of dominance. Ignorant this guy.

Fortunately, everyone else realized this and he has a great home now.

The shelter got an overwhelming response when this article went viral. They're urging people to consider adopting other dogs they have available, too.

This is so awful, I hate intolerant, ignorant, close minded people:mad: . How could they treat this poor dog like this? This is heartless. Do they hate homosexuals so much that they're able to abandon a dog?

I don't want to spoil the fun but let me contribute my experience. Whenever we would come home from the grooming salon, our male pug would be humping Tisoy, a male spitz. Pipoy is an alpha male and there's no way he is gay. Our investigation yielded that the cologne or whatever scent in the salon that they apply to Tisoy catches the attention of Pipoy. By the way, we don't bring Pipoy to the grooming salon since a pug has no coat to speak of. And for that scent, maybe Tisoy smells like a female hence Pipoy does it to him. After some days when the scent had vanished, Pipoy is back to his normal self when dealing with Tisoy.

Now, here is a story that would suit this thread. Our youngest dog is a female named Barbie. She is turning 4 on Saturday. Last year, we caught her humping the throw pillow in the living room. She was doing that several times. In fact, we captured that act in a video. Now, whether it is the scent of the throw pillow or not, what's clear is that Barbie is a female and she should not do that humping.

That is a sad story! I thought dogs hump because it is in their natural instinct or something like that. It is a beautiful dog and I am glad that he has a happy ending!

The issue is, people have different idiosyncracies. There is a great need for education of the populace on the need to treat our canine contemporaries responsibly. I have on many instances discouraged young boys from stoning dogs on the roadsides. Where I come from, there are many cases of injured dogs as a result of cruelty. The worst offenders are onlookers and parents who look on nonchalantly as their children abuse canines and this sets them on a trajectory to commit worse felonies huh!
