    This must have been really scary for both you and Jasper:(
    Personally, I would never leave my dog alone with a child. The biggest problem with children is that they often treat dogs like toys. Homer would be raging if somebody tried to ride him:p

    I honestly don't remember it at all, but my dad also had some Australian Shepards and I know I didn't grow up with any fear of dogs. I was a farm kid and my dad was a big believer in throwing us back up on the horse whenever we fell off (we never hurt ourselves badly enough to prevent that as he had sanded the arena where we learned). When we got back from the ER he probably had me sit with his more gentle dogs a lot so that a phobia wouldn't build. I love dogs (and horseback riding) now so I'm grateful that my dad didn't let us let fear grow.
