Usually, my Homer loves all kinds of insects. He treats them like toys and he really enjoys chasing them and chewing them:eek: I noticed that he avoids spiders though. He seems to be scared of them. I've never seen him playing with a spider, he doesn't want to get near them. I find it cute and funny, because I'm scared of spiders too, so maybe Homer imitates me:p
How do your dogs react to spiders?

My dog chases all insects, including spiders. But he's scared of thunder and will hide under my desk by my feet during a thunderstorm.
Maybe Homer was bitten by a spider once and has learned to be afraid of them because spider bites hurt.

Our dog is not afraid of the common house spiders. I just do not know if he will be afraid of tarantula and other big spiders as he never seen one yet. :p

So my Homer is the only one dog here who is scared of spiders? I thought that maybe it's a common thing, but clearly it's not:p
ACSAPA, I'm not sure if spiders that live in my area bite. Usually, they're very small.

I'm really not sure about Mishka. I've only observed her watching insects rather than doing anything about it. I guess that's one bonus. It's the snakes I'm always afraid of for her if she unwittingly walks over the top of one.

Not at all! Haven't seen as many spiders in the area like I used to, but at one time, I think they got amused at a spider or any insect for that matter. I saw one of my dogs eat a spider. It was so gross. I made sure not to let him lick my hand. I get tickled at the pouncing at the jumping insects, though. I guess because those type are more active and fun to watch. Spiders mostly run, hang around and spin webs, which is irritating for one of mine to get near a web if low enough. Most of the time, though I don't see spiders enough to notice if he'll have the same reaction.

I'm so glad that my Homer doesn't want to eat spiders:eek:
I think that you are right, since spiders don't jump nor fly, they aren't as interesting as other insects. I noticed that Homer loves chasing everything that flies:confused:
