A few months ago, Misha was injured and needed to wear a hood. She couldn't get in her kennel cage, so she slept in her bed on the floor. After the recovery period, I transitioned her out of her bed into her own bed (that is in a doggie tent).

Some nights she sleeps with me. Some nights she sleeps on my bed. Some nights she starts in her tent, then I am woken up at 3 or 4 am with a Jack Russell standing on top of me. LOL Luckily, she quickly settles down under a blanket.

However, for a small dog she takes a lot of room. She wraps herself up in one of the blankets. Usually, it's right next to my back or legs. Half the time, she is the middle of the bed, then gets mad because I push her over. If I get up in the middle of night she takes my spot.

I really don't mind her sleeping with me because she is so small. But, she is a bed hog! If she would go under the blankets at the end of the bed I wouldn't even notice.

Does your dog sleep with you?

I don't let Homer sleep with me because he is too dirty. As you all know, he hates water, so I don't bathe him often. Usually, he sleeps on his couch...and even though he is so tiny and the couch is really big, he wants to have all the space for himself. He doesn't let us sit here. His favorite way to relax is to lie in the middle of it on his back:p

I only have a single sized bed and I am not comfortable sleeping with a dog. Our dog has its own sleeping place or spot in the room. That way, its both comfortable for us. :D

My dog sleeps in my bed. He's a little rat terrier and not really a bed hog.
When I roll over during the night, he rolls over and adjusts to fit my new sleeping position. Every time I move around during the night, he repositions himself to fit against my back. It's kind of adorable.

Nope our dogs have never slept with us. We allow them, specially if they are pups to sleep near the door of our bedroom. We place their bed near the threshold and we don't close the door so they don't feel alone. Later on however they gravitate to other parts of the house. The bedroom is out of bounds because we have 2 year old daughter who sleeps in our room. The rule has been in effect since we had our baby.

I think that this is the perfect solution for those, whose dogs don't want to sleep alone: a side dog bed!

It looks adorable, doesn't it? Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that even if I bought something like this, I would wake up with Homer on my head anyway:confused: He doesn't keep his distance:p
