Our old groomer started her own mobile grooming services about 3 to 4 years ago. When Sierra got arthritic, it was great to have the groomer come to my house to do the bathing. She had a van that was specially equipped for bathing and grooming.

I haven't used her for Misha. I would not impose Misha's wild behavior upon anyone. But, my sister has her bath her dog. It seems her business is doing pretty well. A month ago, I spotted her van in my neighborhood when I was taking Misha for a walk.

I had never heard of mobile grooming services until she started up her business. Do you have this in your area? Have you ever used a mobile groomer?

Yes there is a young lass in the area who travels around and gets a fair bit of business but we are so isolated we need to go to another groomer in our rural town which we plan to soon. Mishka is a bit sensitive with strangers and we will have to insist that she wears a muzzle in case she gets a bit nervous.
Funny that a dog that is so gentle will take a nip at someone because it's unsure what's going on.
If we could get the mobile grooming lass here we would. Our neighbour who also has a collie cross 2 miles down the road does.

In my area there is this groomer who you can have come to your house but she doesn't have any very special equipment, just scissors and maybe a few other things. Homer doesn't like her:(

I've seen a couple of mobile grooming vans while just driving around the highway. At first it seems like a stupid idea, but then when you think about things like your dog being arthritic and how some people just don't have time to go down and get their dogs groomed, it's actually a pretty good idea and is getting well received by the public, so it's actually a growing business.

I've never looked to see if we had any in our area, but I'm sure we do. These are not only good for dogs with arthritis, but for elderly or disabled people too who have pets and cannot easily take them to get groomed. On a semi-related note, one of our local pet stores now also has a station where you can go wash and groom your pet (I think it's free too, or probably some reasonable fee).

This is actually a really good idea. Someone could really capitalize on this and make quite a bit of money. I would love to have a mobile groomer come over to our house and groom Trixie.

We don't. But the groomer who won Season 1 of Groomer Has It in Animal Planet won a Groomer's van equipped with grooming stuff. His name was Artist Knox.

I'm imagining seeing a van with floppy ears on the side and a tale in front. Oh wait, that's the van in Dumb and Dumber.
