I have kept a puppy from my gsd's litter, should I separate them for a time, as in a week or 2? Mum keeps on grabbing pup all the time. Would separation help with training?

I wouldn’t separate them for a week or two just for training. If the mother is grabbing the puppy, it’s important to look at the context, some correction and boundary setting can be normal, but it shouldn’t become excessive or aggressive.

For training, I’d give the puppy some short one on one sessions away from mum so they can focus and build independence. Consistency and positive reinforcement are key. This puppy training guide also has some useful tips for getting started.
