What's your dog's personal preference? Do they like plastic squeakers or do they prefer stuffed animals that have squeakers in them. My dogs prefer the soft stuffed toys because of the texture.

Do they stick to one favorite toy that they always want to play with? Or do they like having to have to play with all the toys in their toy box?

My dogs are not much into toys. Their favorite chewing objects are my shoes and slippers. I have tried giving them other things but they are not interested.

Adorable dog!!! My Homer loved plastic squeakers when he was a puppy, he has never really liked stuffed animals. And now he ignores both of these types of toys, he prefers cones from the garden. They're everywhere now, sometimes even in my bed:p .

All three of our dogs were pretty much obsessed with one toy in particular, a stuffed hedgehog with a squeaker inside. We went through several of them over the years because eventually they would chew them apart and get the insides out.

Misha prefers stuffed animals without a doubt. I have bought her a couple of latex toys and she won't play with them. It is probably just as well considering her propensity to chew up her toys.

Her favorites are her hedgehogs. I mentioned in another thread that she has three of them. She seems to change on what toy she prefers. Right now, it is the large hedgehog.

The only other toys she has consistently played with are the four mini tennis balls. They have squeakers in them, though she can't really squeak them. :D She likes chasing those around. She likes to throw them at me when she runs by.

Cones? LOL. Were the garden gnomes left untouched? The things these dogs perceive as toys just amuses me. My dog Peanuts had her very first squeaker which eventually became her soul mate. As long as it was with her, she was quite happy. And the good thing was, whenever Chooey were to play with it, she'd allow her to.

Have you ever considered getting him a Kong Classic... they do have a resemblance to garden cones. ;)

Yes, he has a Kong toy, but he still likes his cones better. I have no idea why:p . He is slightly obsessed with them, he always brings them home - the more the better:eek: . It doesn't bother me as long as I don't find them in my bed:p .

Lily isn't really interested in toys, but Sherlock loves footballs, and a squeaky rubber ball, inside a glove. We have no idea why he loves the glove so much, but he throws the ball about, stomps on it to make it squeak, and gets himself all kinds of excited. Watching him try to tackle a full sized football with his stubby legs and then trying to BITE it, is nothing short of hilarious.

Mine prefers stuffed toys. They have to have a noise maker of some sort in the middle, though. It doesn't even matter what it is... it just has to exist. Otherwise, he'll spend hours chewing on the middle trying to find the nonexistent noise maker.

Well, let's just hope he doesn't leave anything else on your bed. Dogs have these really weird phases in their lives. The stuff toy mothering phase can be the weirdest.

Well, let's just hope the cone stays chewed upon and not peed upon. :p
