Your Dog "Tricks" Training Experiences

This is a question I've asked a number of dog owners. And answers will vary from 2 months to never. I started training my dog when she was 3 months old. The first trick took her longer to understand, but after which she was able to get the next couple of ones in a span of ten minutes.

One of my dogs was closing a year old and he's more difficult to teach. His first trick which was sit took me 2 sessions before he fully understood the cue word and what he was supposed to do.

What are your experiences in "tricks" training?

 

I just tried teaching a trick to some of our previous dogs before when they are months old but because I do not have enough time to spend in training, it was not that successful. Important for us to make our dogs understand what we are saying not just following tricks so we talked to them just like a real person.
