The most important thing you can do the morning of your dog's surgery is make sure they don't have access to food or water. Eating and drinking could cause your dog to aspirate during anesthesia, which is potentially life-threatening.
Water is ok to leave out. If your pet accidentally gets a small amount of food the day of surgery, discuss with staff upon arrival. If a full meal was eaten, or other factors are involved, then we will likely need to reschedule your pet's surgery appointment.
